Lonja Rusanovsky was born in 1949 in Kiev. He has been playing the violin since he was 4 years old. In addition to viola, Lonja also plays other instruments such as violin, guitar, piano and composes music.

Next to classical music he also turns his attention to other genres, such as jazz and popular styles.

Lonja Rusanovsky has lived in the Netherlands for 40 years and worked as a professional solo violist in the Netherlands Chamber Orchestra. He was also active as a teacher at various German conservatories. As a performing musician he performs as a soloist, participates in many masterclasses and plays with the Trio Rusanovsky ensemble in various countries around the world.

In addition to his passion for classical music, he is also engaged in jazz improvisation on the viola. He was one of the first Dutch people invited to perform in the famous "Blue Note" in New York.

Lonja is also active as a composer for classical and popular music. He has composed extensively for famous Dutch singers and has also written arrangements for Belgian radio and TV programmes.

Active as a movie actor, he has participated in several Dutch movies such as "Ruslui", "Circus Waltz" and the police series "Unit 13". He can still be seen in Dutch commercials in the Netherlands, England and the United States.
